 | Bennett Marine Launches SST System for Luxury Yacht MarketDEERFIELD BEACH, Fla., USA – Trim tab manufacturer Bennett Marine has introduced a comprehensive trimming system to meet the demands of the 16-meter to 46-meter large yacht market. Available worldwide, the SST System was designed for both form and function, combining high-quality materials with hydraulic power. Among the major components, the SST System features 304 grade stainless steel actuators, 7-gauge (4.5 mm) 304 stainless steel trim planes, and a choice of three internal sensor indication systems.
“The stainless steel actuators are the centerpiece of the system,” says Product Development Director Doug Wulf. “They’re created with precision using CNC machines, available as single or dual acting, either single or dual cylinder. Like all Bennett systems, there are no external lines – no exposed wires or hoses that can be damaged in the marine environment. The same goes for the trim tab indication systems, which have internal sensors. Additionally, the SST System uses no dissimilar metals, which makes the actuators less susceptible to corrosion.”
Wulf continues, “We wanted to create an actuator that would incorporate Bennett’s distinct design features, yet offer the elegance and strength that a large yacht demands.”
Each SST System also comes with Bennett Marine’s patented Auto Tab Retractor, which automatically retracts the tabs to the full-up position when the ignition is turned off, minimizing marine growth on the actuator shafts.
According to Joseph Schneider, Director of International Operations, the SST System is available worldwide. “We have received a tremendous amount of interest from all over the world,” says Schneider. “In fact, demand is overwhelming.”
